Windows PowerShell Configuration


Installing & Configuring Windows PowerShell for vCenter Access

CLI is one of the strong component in every software & hardware technology. Through this you can gather every information of hardware. In this article, we do deep drive on this component and brief you on their installation and its configuration. ​​ We shall configure this component under Windows PowerShell. ​Run PowerShell with "Run as Administrator"

Now, install PowerShell with below command

Choose Y to download and update engine

Chose [A] to get download all of the Power CLI modules. Once downloading process completed then you need to proceed with next process which is setting up execution policy.

​Set-Execution Policy -Execution Policy Remote Signed like below screenshot.

Import-Module VMware.VimAutomation.Core and Set-PowerCLIConfiguration -Scope User -ParticipateInCEIP $false

Once Installation and onloading process completed and above steps done on PowerShell. next step is connect vCenter through PowerShell with below command.

Say Y and enter vCenter credentials like

Password : e.g Password@1234

vCenter is connected through Windows PowerShell now and you can do your work like fetching report and taking other information.
